Maxwell is Of Counsel to BRS LLP. Maxwell is a writer and an attorney.
He is currently an Associate Scholar at the John Carter Brown Library at Brown University and a Member of the Board of the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC).
President Obama nominated Maxwell to be a Member of the Board of Directors of OPIC on May 17, 2011. Maxwell was confirmed by the United States Senate by voice vote on October 21, 2011. OPIC is the U.S. Government’s development finance institution. It mobilizes private capital to help address critical development challenges and, in doing so, advances U.S. foreign policy and national security priorities. Because OPIC works with the U.S. private sector, it helps U.S. businesses gain footholds in emerging markets, catalyzing revenues, jobs and growth opportunities both at home and abroad.
With nearly 20 years of experience, Cindy has earned a widely respected reputation for leading large-scale and high-stakes antitrust litigation. Corporate clients rely on Cindy to learn and understand the unique features of the industries in which they operate and to find resolutions in the most efficient and least intrusive manner, while protecting the relationships critical to their business operations. Whether at the negotiation table or in the courtroom, Cindy continues to achieve successful outcomes for her clients, maximizing recoveries and fairly compensating them for losses suffered as a result of anticompetitive conduct.
Before deciding to focus on antitrust affirmative recovery actions, Cindy spent more than a decade as a member of the antitrust group at Jones Day representing corporate defendants accused of antitrust violations.
Cindy is an active member of local and national bar associations and most recently served as the Chair of the Antitrust and Unfair Business Practices Section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association and continues to serve on the Board of the Executive Committee of the Section.
Cindy has been selected as a Southern California Super Lawyer in each year 2018-2022, and a Southern California Super Lawyer Rising Star from 2012-2017. She was also chosen as one of the Top LA Women Lawyers by Los Angeles Magazine from 2012-2017.
